Poem: Sunflower Ghost

Poem: Sunflower Ghost

Your mood was dancing in the breeze when we played in the field,
Sweet and warm your yellow petals embraced me,
When I could not share my petals, you left me alone to mourn the loss of a 5 years and 8 months irreplaceable bond.

It's been 1 week and 5 days without your sunflower scent,
The weather gloomy and cold without your sunshine,
The air still and silent without your swaying,
I'm waiting for my sunflower to smile at me again.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry about the loss of friendship. I can totally relate. And your metaphor about the sunflower fits so perfectly to the friendship that was. Touching piece.

It is great to see a new post from you, Li-Jen, though this poem portrays great sadness. Unfortunately, sometimes we do lose friendships for one reason or another. Hopefully you can restore it when the time is right. All the best.
