Poem: Struggling to Feel Love

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Struggling to feel love is about her lingering beside him letting the door swing open while her heart is still broken. She hears the echoes of his painful words playing like a broken record in her mind. She tries to forget as she blindly walks forward hoping their love can thrive once more.

Struggling to Feel Love

Her heart is shattered in pieces
as she lingers beside him,
letting a door swing open
that might have remained closed.

She hears the constant echoes
of painful words
replaying like a broken record,
as she tries to forget
the pain bleeding in her heart.

Blindly, she continues walking,
pushing those hurtful memories
to the far corner of her mind,
struggling to feel their love
thrive once more.

Sometimes, two people have to fall apart to realize how much they need to fall back together.

Been a while since I've had to walk what can be essentially lonely roads of pain. My addictions are different now, but still there. Let us pray.

Thank you for saying my words show strong emotion.

Words must convey feelings to tell a story.

You paint a vivid picture of hurt and trying to hold on to a love which brings her pain. I love your use of words Brenda which perfectly describe strong emotions. Adele's song is beautiful.
