Poem: Snowflakes

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

"Snowflake" is my response to "Word Prompts Help Creativity ~ Week 45 (Snowflake).

The first one is an acrostic poem spelling snowflake that depicts getting ready for a Nor'Easter.

The second one describes the beauty of snowflakes. Reminding us that life is fragile and delicate, but each one of us plays an important role.

Acrostic Poem ~ Snowflake

Snow boots ready
Nippy Nor’Easter knocking on the door
Overcast sky
With a blanket of white
Falling to the ground
Long johns a must
As artic air rushes in
Keeping warm inside
Eating homemade ice cream.

People Are Like Snowflakes

She feels like a child
when her eyes peer through a pane of glass,
seeing those soft cotton puffs
glittering like diamonds.

She watches them fall gracefully out of the sky,
dancing in the moonlight,
shimmering with a silver tint
before dropping to the ground.

Each one unique and needed
in its own way,
making up a white blanket
to cover the land.

Reminding her how fragile and delicate
life can be
with all its twists and turns,
where each one of us
plays an important role
in this vast universe.

In life, no two days are the same for me.

It's like a snowflake.
