Poem: Self Absorbed
I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.
Poem Summary
Self absorbed is a poem about how one can exist in his own little world with little or no concern for others or things around him.
He walks on a road of his own, making it impossible for a relationship to bloom. He seems lost in an illusion as his eyes cannot see the big picture.
He is left standing alone as time silently drifts away.

"Self Absorbed"
Drenched like an absorbent paper towel,
existing in his own small world
with little to no concern for others.
Aimlessly drifting on a selfish road
of his own making,
destroying any chance
for a relationship to blossom.
Lost in an illusion,
his eyes failing to see the big picture,
pampering himself
with his thoughts and desires.
Standing alone
on a deserted island,
losing his battle for love
as time silently drifts away.

Peggy,
You are so right. They miss out on finding true love.
It's hard to understand how one can live their life in this manner.
Thanks for reading.
Take care & stay safe.

Self-absorbed personalities miss what is most important in life. I feel sorry for them. Your poem shows what they miss most, and that is true love.
