Poem: Secret Flame

I would like to thank Brenda Arledge for her initiative to have weekly prompts for writers on HubPages. Brenda keeps the momentum going for all of us and instills confidence in those who are running out of ideas. This is my first participation in the weekly prompt. Here it goes!

Poem: Secret Flame

A glow beckons from afar,

It crackles a grin, sparkles with enthuasiasm,

Radiates warmth and trust,

A fire never lit before.

The heat and tension released,

The flames bow,

Their last time to shine,

Extinguished and buried in a smile.

A good crackling fire can be so enjoyable. You have beautifully put into words the pleasure of viewing and feeling the warmth of one.

Mary Norton from Ontario, Canada on October 03, 2021:

I enjoyed your poem. I love watching the fires we would have in the cottage. It has so much meaning for me. Some, you have expressed for me.

Hello Brenda, no worries! Your interpretation is fine! Besides, all opinions are valid. The more, the merrier. :)

I try to interpret them, but if I ever get anything wrong...please let me know.

Thanks.

Hello Vidya! Thank you for visiting my poem! I have read your poem, "How wonderful to be a Cloud". The poem is inspiring and and assures us that clouds are wonderful. It reminds us to appreciate the little things in life. My favourite line is "Escape from an unwanted crowd". I agree that clouds are our friends and therapeutic.

VIDYA D SAGAR on September 25, 2021:

A great response to Brenda's word prompt, Li-Jen-Hew. The poem conveys the emotions in few words. Well done

Welcome to our word prompt series. We are happy you decided to join us.

Your Poem: "Secret Flame", you show us how a secret relationship begins with just a smile.

Feeling a sense of warmth and trust like one's never felt before.

Then as quickly as the heat of this passion begins, it ends.

Fading off into the distance leaving a smile behind.

Short & sweet poem. It conveys those moments of a secret flame quite well.

I'll post a link in the word prompt article.
