I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.
"Searching (for more)" by Hannah Acfield
She turns her back
and walks out,
leaving behind every little thing
she held precious in life.
A momentary lapse in judgment,
to think it through,
defeated by daily struggles
with no energy remaining.
She wants to smile,
to hear laughter in her voice,
to do all the things
she has not done,
before her days are gone.

Brenda- sometimes the shorter poems are the most meaningful. I love the fact that you left this poem in an unresolved state, because for most of us there is so much in life that remains unresolved. Sometimes the final word is yet to come. Thank you for capturing that sentiment in this honest, forthright piece you’ve written here. Blessings- Leland.
