The Prince of Peace was never the least
bit worried about war.
He swore passive passage for all beasts,
whether man, animal, or legendary lore.

If any grew angry or upset,
you could bet he would bring
their minds to a surfeit
of calm with soothing songs he'd sing.

Their sweet melodies danced in the air
like a fair lady's loving look.
It would settle nape's hair
and smoothed tension like a babbling brook.

If war raged within his land,
he would stand before
the troubled soul in command
and wonder why he desired more.

If the answer came from hate,
the prince would abate the anger,
revealing a fate
of friendship to the confused stranger.

If the warring nation needed aid,
then the prince made his town
divvy the taxes that they paid
and shared the wealth all around.

The embarking of peace once and for all.
made a mark on humanity
that sparked the fall
of violence and insanity.

Prince Peace didn't live forever,
yet, whenever good times are told,
his story is one that never
grows old.
