Poem-Photograph of a Beautiful Autumn Morning-Response to Brenda Arledge’s Word Prompt-Week 33-Photograph
I love poetry. I am a lifestyle enthusiast and like to write articles and poems on lifestyle changes that benefit people.
Word Prompts Help Creativity-Week 33-Photograph
Brenda’s Word Prompt for week 33 was ‘Photograph’. My muse struggled with this word prompt this week. Then while glancing through some pictures in my phone, I came across some photos that we had shot recently during our trail walk. As we enjoyed the beauty of the fall with its burst of colors, we shot pictures of beautiful nature and then came home and printed them and made a scrap book with them. My granddaughter enjoyed this activity which also kept her away from screens, which she is so fond of. It was a fun activity for her and for me a chance to bond with her more.
I think a photograph, of whatever it might be - a landscape, a person - requires personal involvement. That means knowing your subject, not just snapping at what's in front of you.

Nature Photography
I loved spending time in nature ever since I was a child. I have admired nature photography and the photographers who go deep into forests in their creative pursuit, unmindful of the lurking dangers there. These photographers seem to have their own unique view of the world and capture some intricate moments in nature that we normally miss seeing.
The beauty of nature during autumn inspires us to click photographs. We could make an album of these photographs and when we feel low, we can just take out the album and glance through it. A sure way to drive the blues away.
There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment. This kind of photography is realism. But realism is not enough - there has to be vision, and the two together can make a good photograph.
— Robert Frank
My husband is an avid nature photographer. I remember the times we went on vacations; his camera was a compulsory accompaniment. He would be busy clicking more pictures of landscapes and nature’s wonders than of us. Our old albums are filled with such photographs. These photographs make us see the beauty of the world in a different way. And in the past two years, being stuck at home due to the pandemic, with no chance of a vacation of any sort, I would often spend time looking at these pictures and feel calmer and happier. That is when I realized how relaxing and rejuvenating it can be to just view nature photography.
Summary of the Poem
This poem is about a day when we went on a trail walk recently. The cool air reminded us that winter was near. But the sun cast it’s comforting glow, creating a cheerful atmosphere. My granddaughter was very excited to see the beautiful colors of the leaves and we clicked as many pictures as we could that day. Later we printed them and made an album of the photographs. She loves seeing her photos and makes stories out of them.
It was wonderful to capture the beauty of fall in the pictures. The little one was very enthusiastic and thrilled with this activity. Moreover, it was a perfect distraction for her from watching TV or the iPad which otherwise she would have indulged in. This poem combines the beauty of autumn, the benefit spending quality time with our kids and grandkids amidst nature, clicking photographs and making albums of them.

Poem-Photograph of a Beautiful Autumn Morning
On a beautiful autumn morning we went for a Trail walk
With my little girl along, I got engrossed in her sweet talk
The nip in the air reminded us that winter was near
We soaked in the sunshine as we welcomed the fall.
We clicked pictures of the beautiful trees
With leaves that had changed their color
From green to orange, red and yellow
Our furry friend that day was the happiest fellow.

The autumn sunset was a real sight to see
A dance of colors in the canvas of the sky and sea
A scene so spectacular it made us want to cry
What a wonderous sunset, Oh what a sky.
As we printed the pictures one by one
We made stories of them and had such fun
We put them all in a new scrap book
For her mom and dad to have a good look.

A trail walk so enchanting we can never forget
With photographs, and a scrapbook project
There is so much to enjoy in nature
And keep the little ones away from screens.
Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.
— Dorothea Lange
Photograph-An Acrostic Poem
Photographs of nature
Have the ability to convey
Of the wonders of creation
To admire and to revere
Often not seen by us
Grandeur of the autumn
Refreshing and rejuvenating
Amidst the sunset glow
Promise of a bright tomorrow with
Happiness, peace and love.
