Poem: Oldness of Time

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Oldness of time is a poem about how the years pass in a couples life. It becomes ordinary, nothing special. They are best friends not lovers.

As life's clock counts down there are times when one must venture on alone. He must complete his destiny no matter how much despair it gives him to leave.

Oldness Of Time

Oldness of time
molds them together,
making light of each moment
they share.

The seasons changing them
over the years,
no longer lovers
but best friends,
each day is typical,
nothing unique or special.

Forever to be
crumbled in front of her eyes,
hitting her like a brick wall,
tears of despair
wakes hers one day,
uprooting their sanctuary
leaving him behind.

Her mind in turmoil
fearing the loss of each minute,
watching the clock silently count down
with life too short,
she must control her destiny
making the most
of each moment,
discovering her dreams
before they slip far away.
