Poem: No Season for a Broken Heart

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

No Season for a Broken Heart

Tis the season
to believe,
but with a heart that’s broken
it's like despair.

For each corner one turns
sadness fills his heart,
knowing his dreams
have shattered apart.

Thank you.

It is grief when one has a broken heart.

manatita44 from london on July 03, 2021:

Succinct with timeless message. A bit like 'grief.'

Thank you.

You have reminded me of the one true love.. God.

I pray you are feeling better.

Misbah Sheikh from The World of Poets on July 02, 2021:

Nice poem, Brenda. I believe a broken heart is God's Greatest Blessing because only when it breaks can we realize that genuine love is the Love of God

Blessings and Love to you

So true.

Nothing seems to make one feel in the mood to be festive.

Kari,

It seems any holiday can be bad when you have a broken heart but I believe Christmas time is probably the worse.

Thank you for reading.

Merty Christmas!

Kari Poulsen from Ohio on December 21, 2019:

Christmas can be a horrible time with a broken heart. Seeing everyone in the holiday spirit just underlines the sadness.

Ms. Dora,

Let's hope they do find a reason.

Thanks for reading.

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on December 19, 2019:

True, sadness at Christmas for whatever reason can be as intense as the joy of those who celebrate. Hope the sad ones will find a miraculous reason to escape despair.
