Poem: No Comfort in Saying Goodbye

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

There is no comfort in saying goodbye ia about her watching a loved one near death's door. She cannot find the words to express the heartbreak she feels deep down inside. She finds no comfort knowing there is a higher power. Tears fall as she looks at her loved one not knowing the words to speak.

No Comfort in Saying Goodbye

Her heart aches
as she watches
her loved one
near death’s door.

She doesn't understand
how to say goodbye,
when there are no words
to express the heartbreak
and the loneliness
she feels deep down
within every fiber of her bones.

She finds no comfort
understanding there is a higher power
to which all paths of life belong.

Teardrops fall
with memories flashing across her mind,
leaving pictures
for her to cherish,
looking onward
at her loved one
not knowing
the words to speak.
