Poem: My Heart Is Breaking

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

"My Heart Is Breaking" is a poem about when someone you care about dies, passing on to a new eternity. You cannot express your feelings for you must remain strong for others. You know after others are comforted the silence will hit you. You will grieve wanting to talk to him one more time.

My Heart Is Breaking

My heart is breaking,
sorrow fills my eyes,
but no tears can fall
for I cannot let it show.

I must remain strong
so others can lean on me,
putting my grief off
until I am alone.

I'm torn inside,
I want to yell
at the heavens,
this fate is unfair.

It's way too young to die,
leaving too many behind,
shattering dreams of hope,
suffering in despair.

When comfort touches
the emptiness of their souls,
silence will surround me,
then it will be my turn
to breakdown.

My thoughts will release
with overflowing tears,
with a piece of my heart breaking away
wishing I could talk to you one more time.

You're everywhere

except right here

and it hurts.
