Poem: Momma's Christmas Wish

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Momma's Christmas wish is a poem about her being fed up with the coronavirus frenzy. The chairs at her table sit empty this year. So she hopes at least Old Saint Nick can make it down the chimney to keep her company.

Momma's Christmas Wish

Momma is fed up with this coronavirus frenzy

with love ones not allowed to gain entry,

seeing the chairs at the table sit empty

she hopes old Saint Nick

can at least make it down the chimney.

She takes a sip of brandy

snapping a quick selfie,

sending it off to Santa

showing him milk and cookies,

hoping he will hurry.

She makes a wish upon a penny,

waiting patiently

for Santa’s company

to make her feel warm and cozy,

hoping for a blizzard warning

so he can stay until the wee hours of the morning.

Chrish,

There have been those moments when I wanted to fly away...but I never screamed for Peter Pan. Maybe I will try that one. (Haha)

Christmas is in the air with a little magic for us all.

Have a nice day.

Brandy for you and cookies for Santa. I like that idea! Cheers to next Christmas being ever-so-much-better a year! In the meantime, glean all the fun you can from each day, because we never know what tomorrow might bring.

Ruby,

The the brandy will probably help.

I wrote a poem Covid-19 against Christmas that says this year Santa needs to come more than ever.

I pray this coming year brings us Peace.

Thanks & have a nice day.

Rosina,

Thank you.

This one is just my imagination running a bit wild.

My mother has had numerous ministers reach out to her from at least 4 different churches so I know God is working hard to give her peace.

Thank you & have a nice day.

Manatita44,

So right you are! This year has definitely been life changing.

I pray this coming year releases us from the fear of Covid-19 so we can get back to living again normally.

But I do hope that people carry this new sense with them so the world can be a better place for all.

We should all look at the moment right in front of our eyes and not put too much on tomorrow.

I pray you find peace in everyday & at Christmas in the monastery with family.

My thoughts will travel across the globe to greet you.

Merry Christmas & thank you for the blessings for momma.

What a life-changing year! I wish everyone as best a Christmas as they can. Me, I'm usually in a Monastery, with family or at our Temple in Heidelberg. Right now, I'm not looking too hard at tomorrow.

I pray life comes good for momma soon. Peace.
