Poem: Meeting You Through a Profile

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Meeting you through a profile is a poem describing how we often meet people today.

With all the new technology we can chat to others in another part of the world. It is quite amazing.

We quickly seem like friends even though our paths have not crossed.

Meeting You Through a Profile

Refreshing change,
reading words
from someone
far away,
quick as a flash of lightening
our words communicate.

Meeting one another
through profiles on a page,
strange as it seems
we connect,
sharing common goals
our paths are linked.

Chatting in real time
with an emoji or two,
like we are friends,
even though our paths have not crossed.

Nice poem, Brenda. I met my wife through an online game of Scrabble. So it can work.
