Poem: Man in The Moon
I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.
Poem Summary
"Man in the Moon" is a poem I wrote thinking about the face that shines down upon us from the night sky.
Does he realize how much we look forward to his light?
Is he lonely?
Or perhaps he is sad because he cannot help us.
Just my thoughts contemplating, like normal.

Man in The Moon
His face shines
beneath a circle of white,
looking so dreary
with his somber eyes and the corner of his mouth turned down.
I wonder if he knows
how we look forward to his shining light
to brighten up our path,
keeping us out of the darkness?
I wonder if he's lonely,
as his brilliant light shimmers across the land
when he cannot touch the ground?
Or is he sad
because his eyes see everything,
yet, he can't reach out with a helping hand.
She liked the moon,
because,
like herself,
It shined it's brightest when no one was around to see.
