Poem: Lovestruck

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Lovestruck is a poem about a woman being struck by the lightning bolt of his love. She usually protects her heart but he has a magnetic pull over her. She is spellbound throwing caution to the wind. She is whisked away like debris in a tornado.

Lovestruck

Like a thunderstorm in the dead of the night
she is struck by a lightening bolt
of love.

It’s hard to imagine
his magnetic hold
pulling her closer,
when she plays it safe
protecting her heart.

Like she is spellbound
throwing caution to the wind,
with fate answering an unknown wish
she made long ago.

The storm gains strength
whisking her away like debris
swirling in a tornado.

Words "Love know no bounds " are so true. You have portrayed it all so well in these beautiful lines. The simile of debris is also so apt. Brenda, love reading this lovely composition.

Dream On,

Thank you. It is difficult for me to write longer poetry.

I am delighted to know I get my point across in the few words I write.

I think love just might drive me wild...lol.

So glad you stopped by again...stop by to read my work anytime.

Thank you.

Once again you have captured so much and just a few beautiful words. The feelings and the thoughts fighting each other but at the same time giving in. Another one of my favorites. Thank you and may love always drive you wild.
