Poem: Love's Value

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Love's value is a short poem about how one paints the picture of his love. If it is worth more than gold it shines brightly but if it is hidden from view the passion dies like a candle with a low wick.

Love's Value

Painting a picture of love

worth more than gold,

shines bright

like the stars in the night sky.

Casting this light in the shadows

like a secret treasure,

passion dies in a wax pool,

like a candle burning with a low wick.

Chrish,

Thank you.

The feeling of love is really not that confusing, but people make it that way.

Have a great day!

Brenda, I appreciate your poem very much. I like the way you compared love to be worth more than gold shining brightly- yet, when it is cast in the shadows, passion dies like a candle with a low wick. I simple love your analogies. A wonderful share.

This is a very nice poem about love, Brenda. I like the idea of casting light in the shadows and comparing love being worth more than gold.

I hope you are having a good weekend.

Love shining brightly is a beautiful thing to experience. Sometimes it can also be quiet, like being wrapped in a warm snuggly blanket, but knowing it is there when needed.

Ann Carr from SW England on December 12, 2020:

How true that is!
