"Lost Thoughts"

She feels a familiar feeling of rejection
when he reaches out to hold her
seeming tense, not at all like his usual playful self
like his thoughts are lost,
trapped somewhere between his heart and mind.

Her heart can feel him pulling away,
he has a sadness buried deep in his eyes
with thoughts she can no longer read.

She hopes when he forms his words to speak
her ears will only hear words of desire
leaving this feeling of heartbreak
behind her.
