Poem: Like a Mother's Touch

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Article Summary

"Like a Mother's Touch" is a poem that expresses the feeling you have when someone loves you enough to be in your corner.

It isn't always the woman who gave birth to you. Sometimes it's a friendly face or the neighbor down the road, or a grandmother or Aunt, Father or brother or even your significant other.

We all have that special person in our life.

Make today a day to remember all of their kindness.

Like a Mother's Touch

When you feel like hiding in the corner
and crawling away
but there’s a force
that picks you up
helping you face life’s struggle another day.

When you feel the comfort of a friendly hug
wipe away your tears
whispering words of wisdom
helping you regain your footing
towards the finish line.

When you feel someone standing close
with a smile or tear,
loving you unconditionally
with open arms
making you feel better
when your day goes all wrong.

That’s the loving arms of an angel
handpicked by God
embracing you with a mother’s touch
helping you make it through another moment.

Its not always the woman
who gave birth to you,
sometimes it’s just a friendly face
or the neighbor down the road,
or a grandmother or Aunt,
Father or brother
or even your significant other.

Whoever it might be,
turn the tables around today
showing them you have their back
and thank them for their kindness
as only you can
making this a day to remember.
