Poem: Like A Love Spell

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

"Only Yesterday" by The Carpenters

poem-like-a-love-spell

He searches relentlessly
but does not find her,
then he smiles
when she stumbles across his path
one summer day.

Enthusiastically he reaches out
speaking all the right words
stopping her in her footsteps,
tempting her to walk his way.

She falls into his arms
just like it was yesterday,
melting one another’s troubles away
with love in their hearts,
laughter in their souls,
magically caught in a love spell.

Throwing sadness away,
no more gloomy days,
their love shining like lovebirds
which strangers claim to see.

A happiness they both deserve,
precious as can be,
the moment the angels blessed
their love
for all eternity.
