Poem: Life Cycle

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Life cycle is about her thinking back on her memories of the past years on the eve of her turning another year older. She knows each of her days are numbered and counts her blessings. She hopes the new day brings her new memories to treasure.

"The Impossible Dream - by Susan Boyle"

Life Cycle

She flips through the pages of her life,

dusting off a few cherished memories

she keeps on the back burner of her mind.

She knows her days are numbered,

counting her blessing with each step,

grateful for every rainbow that crosses her path

keeping her sheltered from the storms.

She looks forward to the coming day

hoping for beams of sunshine to fill her heart,

making precious treasures

she can age like a fine wine.

Chrish,

We all have a number but when someone has an illness they realize their number is getting closer than others.

I'm sorry you feel a little broken.

Life can do that. But you must keep going and enjoy each moment in life.

No one knows the hour their time is up.

Anything can happen at anytime.

You seem to have a cheerful disposition so I believe you have it inside you to overcome what is ailing you right now.

Have a great day Gal.

Alyssa,

What a lovely comment. Thank you so much.

Imagine is one of my favorite songs and I remember the very day Susan Boyle sang that song...she is amazing.

She teaches us a valuable lesson that it is never too late to go for one's dreams.

Have a great Christmas season.

Manatita44,

If the wine is aged to perfection...it matters not where it comes from. Lol!

Thank you for your hopeful desire of roses.

Have a nice day.

This poem is about where I am at in my life, so I really enjoyed reading it. Your song choice was good also. Thank, Brenda.

Beautiful thoughts about life, and it’s various phases. As we age, we have a tendency to look back at the cherished memories of the past. An appropriate one for your birthday. Each day is a blessing, and full of new opportunities.

Happy Birthday and wish you lots of happiness on your special day and always.

Thank you for sharing.
