Poem: Lies and Drugs

My name is Candice Ballinger and I am a published author and poet. I love writing poetry of all kinds.

poem-lies-and-drugs

Ashamed to breath

lost in my own despair,

broken in pieces

consuming powder;

dust at the bottom of a baggie

such a bitter taste,

it burns my nose

mouth-watering silhouette

striking a pose,

my line of sight

shows me the truth,

I'm losing my sanity

while gaining your lies

wash away my impurities

strip me naked,

banishing the wicked

raising their guilt,

but never giving them satisfaction

I am a slave to these white lines

they beckon and starve me,

rotting my mind

and clothing my intentions;

with clever fibs

and loud outcries.
