Poem: Letting Someone Care

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Letting someone care is a poem about how hard it is to see the way another person feels for you. It is difficult to take a chance letting someone in your life but it can reward your soul. Taking this chance can bring new life to lost dreams.

Letting Someone Care

Its hard to see the light
in someone else’s eyes,
to know the feelings he holds so deep.

To realize someone cares
in a way you can not imagine,
knowing he stands beside you reaching out for your hand if you start to fall.

It's difficult to trust someone
when you have locked all the doors,
to take a chance on love
allowing yourself to feel
once again.

It’s a difficult road to travel,
but it rewards your soul
with a fresh perspective
giving new energy to lost dreams.

Beautiful and hopeful poem about love, Brenda. It is a risk but the rewards are worth it. You've captured the dilemma well.

Kari,

That's the ticket...finding the strength.

Happy New Year...hope this year treats you great my friend.

Brenda, I agree, it is a battle to let others in. But, usually once we find the strength to open up we are happier. Happy New Year.

Very beautiful, Brenda, but giving that key, of trust and faith to let someone in is a hard one and will that person follow the map to ones hear and in finding the treasures will unlock the heart in a safety fault for one to feel secure!

A beautiful, thought-provoking poem!

There was a time when I locked all doors, then I took a chance unlocked all doors, and I haven't regretted it. This is another beautiful piece!
