Poem: Left All Alone

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

"In The Arms Of An Angel" by Sarah Mclachlan

poem-left-all-alone

Without him by her side
she feels no need to rush,
staying beneath the covers
of her bed made for one.

Tears fall
as she reminisces,
hoping she could touch her memories
to make them real.

She feels blessed to have a roof over her head,
a bed to sleep upon,
a cozy room with heat,
but cannot shake the sad feeling
of being left here all alone.

You can really sense the sadness within the lines of this poignant poem Brenda. I think when we lose someone close to us it heightens those feelings of being alone regardless of whether there are others in our life. I enjoy your poems.
