Poem: Just One Look

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

"When You Say Nothing At All" by Alison Krauss

poem-just-one-look

The expression on his face
tells a story of it’s own
with no spoken words.

The way he rolls his eyes with an awkward grin
thinking her dreams are impractical
even though, he loves her enthusiasm
knowing she has the strong will to succeed.

The smile on his face
displaying his love
hoping she doesn’t realize
the closeness he feels
touching his heart.

The way his eyes
show excitement
shining like diamonds,
sparkling each moment
he talks to her.

She needs no communication
to understand his thoughts,
for just one look tells her
the words he is trying to hide.

Yes, reading one's heart is a great ability.

I think you probably do this yourself.

A woman or a man knows the other's feelings by the look on their face's. The video is perfect for this piece. Well done!

BRENDA ARLEDGE (author) from Washington Court House on January 02, 2020:

Thanks Manatita44.

Yes, I guess so. It's not hard to know how someone feels based on his expressions.

I imagine men can do this also.

manatita44 from london on January 02, 2020:

A woman's intuition, as they say. Expressed well.
