Poem: Intense Fever

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Intense fever is a poem about a woman who should have ran the other way when she heard his first lie. Before her heart craved this feeling, wanting his touch. Her mind loses control letting her heart lead the way. She endures excitement, heartbreak and pain as she tunes a deaf ear to his lies.

"Intense Fever"

She should have ran the other way
when her ears heard
the first lie from his lips.

Before her heart craved
this intense fever,
wanting his breath
upon every inch of her skin.

A longing she feels
deep inside her soul,
lacking any ability to follow
man's rules.

Her mind losing all control,
with her heart leading the way
down a road full of joyful excitement,
heartbreak, and pain.

Tuning a deaf ear to the words
spewing from his mouth,
waiting to touch
the passionate joy from his soul.
