Poem: Illusion of Friendship

Like a mouse taunting a cat
emotions hang on a string,
hoping to solve this maze
without hurt,
hopeful your distant words
speak loudly in your heart.

Like a flower grows in Spring,
tending to deadheads
promotes new growth,
friendship must be seasoned,
illusions left behind,
renewing strength
through communication
creating a strong bond.

"Keep your friendships in constant repair" is a quote I remembered from years ago, and your poem brought it to mind. Thank you for sharing.
