Poem: He Is Lost - Not Gone

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

He is lost - not gone is a poem about a man who leaves a woman he still loves. He wants to be there for her lending a helping hand. He is not far away. He wishes he could wipe away her tears. He is not going anywhere, just right now he is lost. He cannot be the man she deserves.

He Is Lost - Not Gone

His heart holds her close
even though his feet do not stand beside her,
his eyes see the pain in her tears
loving her more than she knows.

His arms are there
reaching to lend a helping hand,
hoping to heal her broken heart,
never too far away
to dry her tears.

He wishes he could hold her
when she is scared,
to erase the moments
when he caused her sadness,
he wishes he could be the man she deserves
but right now he is lost.

I am glad you find this one touching.

Sometimes being apart gives you focus so you realize what you truly desire.

Sometimes people just need time apart in order to sort out their own emotions and issues. Your poem is sensitive and touching.
