Poem: His Loss is My Gain

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

"I Worship The Woman You Walked On" by Ronnie Dunn

It's hard to believe
he broke this angel’s heart
leaving her here for me.

I will hold her until her tears dry,
helping hers pick up the pieces,
waiting for her heart to mend.

I will cherish all the love
he took for granted,
satisfying her every need,
being grateful for his loss.

On lonely nights
he will miss her
trying to feel her heavenly love again,
but I will not worry.

For his words will fall upon deaf ears
as she realizes I treat her like a lady,
spoiling her until her heart’s content.

He can never get back what he once had. Too late to realize how beautiful it really was. You keep carving away like a turkey on Thanksgiving day. Your words cut through like a knife in butter. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful Thursday.

Oh Ruby,

You are a romantic at heart and it never hurts for him to be missing her.

Thanks for reading.

I like the thought that she found love again after he let her go, and just possibly, he's missing her. Another good one!

Rosina,

Thanks. I guess so.

I had not looked at it quite that way, but you are right.

Enjoy your day.

It is interesting to see how you spoil the lady who was dumped by her man. This poem is different in that the more you help this lady, the more the man incurs losses and suffers and the more you gain. A good piece of poetry!
