Poem: Helpless Love

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Helpless love is about a woman who is unresponsive, unable to open her eyes or move her lips to speak.

She knows her loved ones are by her side. She wants to comfort them & wipe away their tears away, like only a mother can.

One last hug before she leaves.

Helpless Love

She lies unresponsive,
waiting for the moment
her soul leaves this world.

Trying to open her eyes,
moving her lips to no avail,
remaining motionless, hearing words
of loved ones by her side.

She reaches out
to comfort them,
hoping to wipe away their tears
as only a mother can.

A mom's hug last long after she let's go.

Alas! It happens. The frailty of this thing called life. Another tender, delicate and poignant piece.

You are so good at capturing the moment within your poems Brenda. You have perfectly described the loss and the strength of a mother's love in this beautifully written piece, which touched my heart.
