Poem: Heaven Scent

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

"Heaven Scent" ia a poem I wrote as I reflected back on a few memories.

Each year, Ron gave me hanging flower baskets for Mother's Day and usually a few other flowers for our pots.

This day marked the beginning of our yearly tradition.

He loved flowers as much as I do, so this year I've kept up with it by starting on our front porch.

Flowers always seem to make a home feel comfortable.

I hope you enjoy my poem.

Heaven Scent

As I flip through the pages of my memories
today I remember the one who called me mom
the one who loved me unconditionally
until the day he was gone.

Remembering those soft scented plants
hanging in baskets
he proudly gave to me
each and every year.

This year is no exception
flowering baskets adorn our porch
giving our home some curb appeal.

I hope his spirit takes a glimpse
and smiles
catching the reflection of my love
embedded in each and every flower petal
reaching out to his soul.
