Poem: Heartbroken

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Heartbroken is a poem about being shattered by the one she loves. The sparkle in her eyes hides behind tears as her passion fades. She shakes uncontrollably like she is at the point of no return. He wishes he could turn back the hands of time & erase the moment as he holds her in his arms.

Heartbroken

The sparkle in her baby blues

hides beneath the pool of water dripping from her eyes,

fading with the passion

that once burned inside her heart.

Desperately he hunts for a way

to turn back the hands of time,

hoping to erase the pain

raging through her thoughts,

but his eyes can no longer see

the essence of her glow.

She shakes uncontrollably

in a fragile state,

with tears flowing

like she has lost her best friend,

standing at the point of no return.

Gently he wraps his arms around her,

softly whispering words of regret

seeking forgiveness for his mistake,

silently hoping to bring comfort

to her shattered soul.

I've missed a lot from you Ms Brenda!

This is what exactly I feel everytime I watched Japanese anime, it feels like my heart is being bayoneted by someone

I can almost touch the characters burden.

Beautiful!

Have an awesome time out there Ms Brenda.

Pamela,

I am delighted to hear this poem is very good.

When trust is broken it is very painful & difficult to move forward.

Take care & enjoy your day.

Peggy,

Thank you.

Trust is important in a relationship and I do feel it is difficult for one to fully trust after being hurt.

Take care & have a nice day.

This is a very good poem that expresses that heartbreak perfectly. I agree that trust was broken to cause that kind of pain.

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on January 07, 2021:

It is hard to rebuild trust once it is shattered. Your poem, I believe, speaks to that.
