Poem: He Lost His Good Girl

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

"Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac

He Lost His Good Girl

He listens to loneliness
creak through the walls,
he feels heart break
as tears silently roll down his cheek,
wondering why he chose to be alone.

He wanted to be carefree
playing games
he thought he was missing,
but now he sits alone
silently yearning for the one he lost.

Realizing too late
she didn't need a provider
she only wanted him
with her passionate desire,
until he broke her trust.

In every room
her face haunts him,
the essence of her soft touch
lingers in his every thought.

Feeling emptiness,
looking at his house astray,
dishes and laundry piling up
more despair piles on,
for since he lost his good girl
he has to clean up his own mess.
