Poem: False Hope

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

"Back To Me" by 3 Doors Down

poem-false-hope

She feels like a bug
being squashed to death
on the bottom of his shoe,
when his words slice her heart
leaving her bleeding on the floor.

She has no reason to suspect
these unbearable words to be spoken
from his lips,
when their passion is burning out of control
like a wildfire.

She is lost
with her world crumbling
beneath her feet,
her mind bewildered
with no where left to turn.

A nothingness,
she has not felt before
embraces her bleeding heart,
as she realizes all the false hope
and deceitful promises he made,
each and every day.

Manatita44,

It does happen but I wish others would think before they speak.

Words can be so hurtful and they continue echoing in the mind forever.

Thanks for reading.

Yes, another that happens unfortunately. We can and still hope for the best, as indeed we should.

Betrayal by our loved one hurts the worst. Especially when there are layers of lies. I hope you are having a happy day, Brenda.

Ruby,

They say words cannot hurt you but they truly do.

Words can be so damaging.

This is such a sad poem. Hurtful words can live in the heart forever.

An emotionally charged poem Brenda which shows the pain of hurt and betrayal. Brilliant.
