Poem: Experiment Design

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Article Summary

"Experiment Design" is my response to "Word Prompts Help Creativity ~ Week 37.

This word had me stumped, but then my muse finally began to conjure up a few words.

I hope you enjoy the following poems.

One shows us the power of the placebo effect and the other is like finding a bit of magic.

"The Power Of The Placebo Effect ~ Emma Bryce"

Mind Over Matter

Feeling a bit like a Guinea pig

he takes part in a clinical study

hoping to find a cure.

Excitement brews

when his symptoms begin to dissipate,

but little does he know

he took a placebo.

Each day his body seems stronger,

enthusiasm wakes him early

giving him a new step in his stride,

leaving the doctors a bit perplexed.

Seeing his mind manifest a new truth

proving the theory

we are what we believe.

Acrostic Poem ~ Experiment

Excitement lingers in the air like

Xmas morning opening

Energy takes control,

Renewing our faith with

Impossible dreams,

Making them a reality,

Eagerly awaiting the outcome,

Nurturing human nature

To believe in magic.

No amount of experimentation

can ever prove me right;

a single experiment can prove me wrong.

— Albert Einstein
