Poem: Come Near

My name is Candice Ballinger and I am a Christian woman who loves Jesus and his word.

Come Near

The mercy that He gives to me

the love that He shows my soul,

shows me I am adored

for that, I am assuredly told,

the Lord is my shepherd

His rod protects me so,

fighting off the evil enemies

that want to consume my being,

and crush my body

and my soul,

but my master takes control

He walks before me

a light in the silent darkness,

He whispers in my ear,

"Come near."

I listen because he reassures me so

my faith keeps me sane,

it keeps me on my toes

Jesus has become my only hope

and he will take care of my every need

that's the only thing I really know.
