Poem: Carefree for the Moment

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Carefree for the moment is a poem about watching others release their worries for the night. Different people from various paths in life take time to relax listening to a live band. Kicking back with a few drinks pretending life is fine. No worries tonight, tomorrow's another day.

Carefree For The Moment

Different people
mingle in a crowd,
waiting for the band to play.

Oh what a sight,
young to old
and in between,
chasing their demons away.

I wonder if they're as happy
as they seem to be,
laughing and dancing
for all to see.

No worries for the moment,
enjoying this other universe,
being carefree with friends and strangers
pretending to have a fun.

Making some noise,
relaxing with the drink,
dancing the night away,
no worries for tonight,
tomorrow’s another day.
