Poem: Carefree for the Moment

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

poem-carefree-for-the-moment

All the different people,
mingled in a crowd
waiting for the band to play.

Oh what a sight,
young to old
and in between
chasing their demons away.

I wonder if any are as happy
as they seem to be,
laughing and dancing
for all to see,
or if its only a release.

No worries for the moment,
being a part of this other universe,
being carefree with friends and strangers
pretending to have a fun.

Making some noise,
relaxing with the drink,
dancing the night away,
no worries for tonight,
tomorrow’s another day.

Yes, Lorna. It really does help to see things in a new light.

I guess being carefree for a few moments might actually be good for us.

Lorna Lamon on September 01, 2019:

I think we all like to forget our worries and just enjoy the moment. If you take your mind off your worries then when you revisit them it's possible to see them in a different light.
