Poem Summary
"Awesome Roadside Rest" is a poem I wrote as I looked back at our vacation pictures from this summer.
The Ardmore Welcome Center was one of our first stops on our way to Panama City Beach Florida.
It was a welcome delight with employees who loved their jobs.
We learned a bit of history as we stretched our legs.

Awesome Roadside Rest
Stumbling across this beautiful roadside rest
after crossing the Alabama state line,
loving this experience while stretching their legs,
knowing it puts those in Ohio to shame.
The workers polite and caring,
tending to the flowerbeds,
inquiring about their journey,
offering to help in any way.
Pointing out the rocket,
proud of their monumental displays,
enthusiasm pouring out with each word,
truly enjoying their work.
Clean restrooms
with places to sit and relax,
learning a bit of history,
before the road
calls them back.
