Poem: Alone

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

"Alone" by Heart

poem-alone

"Alone"

At night
when she crawls into bed,
tears flow
with loneliness creeping in beside her.

She struggles
to make it through each day,
but nighttime
reminds her she is alone,
hearing no voice,
telling her everything will be okay.

How she misses the comfort
of love,
the caring for one another,
as the darkness
soothes her soul.

Into the darkness, thats where our thoughts are consumed, almost monstrous. To get through the day is one thing, but by the evening our minds are working overtime, and difficult to switch off. Self console and try to fall asleep.

So eloquent, and appreciate your write

Love, light and happiness to you always Brenda

Loneliness is always so gut-wrenching, I always find myself hoping that others don't feel lonely and wishing I could hold the lonely ones in my arms and tell them I love them. Even if it is only platonic, it is nice to know someone loves you and cares for you.

A resonant poem, Brenda.
