Poem: Accepting the Seasons of Life

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

Accepting the seasons of life is about one who has a broken heart. He realizes he must accept this fate and stand strong. No matter how many teardrops fall he must move forward. Like the seasons he must recognize the changes and embrace them. Letting his heart feel the pain so he can be renewed.

"Accepting the Seasons of Life"

Her heartaches with the passing of the seasons,
realizing mistakes along life’s journey
wanting to spin time in reverse.

As the seasons move forward,
so must she,
beholding the changing scenery
no matter what her eyes see,
or how many teardrops fall.

Standing strong
like an old oak tree,
clinging to life
waiting for storms to pass,
no longer weak and fragile like a twig.

Her heart bears the pain,
accepting the seasons of life,
renewing her soul,
leaving a scar behind
to remind her of the path
her feet once traveled.

Do not fear the leaves changing for it is leading to the best season of your life yet
