Poem About Death - Road Kill
I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.
Booze and music was the recipe for mayhem
But what was even more dangerous was a drugged out and driving at 3AM
A six wheeler swaying from side to side with opened spilled beer
Rock music blasting from ear to ear
Horn honking at shadows
While the truck sends the bugs to the gallows
Doing over a hundred in a fifty mile zone
All this while trying to text on the phone
But as the wreck less vehicle skidded around a blind corner
The truck came face to face with an old lady and soon she was a goner
There was no stopping, there was no probability for a miss
As the truck slammed her, pinned her and squashed her outside and within
Immediately the grim reaper pitched
It held on to the old ladies soul and gave the truck driver a smirk
Because soon he knows he will be back for the jerk.
