Poem: A Storm Brewing within My Soul

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

A Storm Brewing within My Soul is a poem depicting how a person feels when he has been betrayed and must start over again. Leaving behind his comfort zone as his world crumbles. His thoughts race. His heart turns to stone feeling no emotion as he restarts his journey to an unknown destination.

A storm
brewing within my brain
makes me take flight,
leaving behind my
comfort zone.

My inner world
is crumbling
breaking me into pieces,
leaving me shattered,
endless thoughts
racing through my mind.

Tormented by anguish
not knowing which direction
to turn,
I remain motionless
with a heart of stone.

Feelings of betrayal,
fear of being alone,
restarting my journey
to a destination unknown,
leaves me lost
feeling no emotion.

Chitrangada,

Thank you for reading this one.

Life slowly gets back on pace but there is something about starting over that sticks to you forever.

In your bones...so to speak.

Have a great week.

Well expressed poem. I can relate to it. The sooner we recover from such agonies, the better for us. Life means, keep moving on.

This was heartfelt Brenda. Thank you for sharing.

Peggy,

I have reached that despair in the past and it is not a great feeling.

Delighted to know I captured the feeling through my words though.

Thank you & have a great week.

You have captured well the feeling of despair and having to start over from scratch. I hope that you never reach those depths of despair.
