Poem: A Peaceful Easy Feeling

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

A peaceful easy feeling is a poem about the wonders of nature giving you a peaceful easy feeling. Looking up at the night sky embraces one with calmness. The pictures in the clouds remind one the day has sorrow but there is still beauty around while listening to music naturally created by the night.

A peaceful easy feeling
wraps around me
as puffy white patches
drift upon the night sky
with tiny glimmers shining bright.

There is a white circle etching the sky
with a small piece missing
painted with a sad face,
reminding me the day has sorrow
but there is beauty all around.

Echoes in the distance
from tiny hidden creatures
talking back-n-forth
making the most serene sound
my ears have ever heard.

Ravi,

I do think your assessment is right on target and I appreciate your thoughtful reply.

It's just me...I'm a different type of soul.

I'm not normal. I'm kinda a free spirt at heart.

Ravi Rajan from Mumbai on April 10, 2021:

Yes Brenda we all are different and we all are unique. Thanks for your perspective and thoughts.

BRENDA ARLEDGE (author) from Washington Court House on April 10, 2021:

Ravi,

I'm certain what you are describing of the human aspect is true for many.

We can let our mood affect the beauty of other objects.

But with me, if I am sad looking up at the night sky makes me feel better.

The same thing happens whenever I am near water such as a lake or the ocean.

It has a calming effect on me.

I think sitting next to a campfire burning beneath the dark sky does also.

But hey...I'm a bit different.

Ravi Rajan from Mumbai on April 10, 2021:

Thanks Brenda for this wonderful poem. I always believe while nature can give us a soothing peace, the final aspect of peace always lies within us. For example, when one is happy we appreciate the cool beauty of the moon. And the same moon becomes gloomy when we experience sadness. Humans like nature experience cycles of the good, the bad and the ugly and it reflects on our attitude towards the world around us.

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on April 10, 2021:

The viewing of nature can often bring about peaceful feelings when we realize the majesty of it all. As Ann mentioned, even noticing the smallest of details can bring joy. I love waking up each morning to the singing of birds going about their day.

BRENDA ARLEDGE (author) from Washington Court House on April 10, 2021:

Ann,

Thank you.

That is a very good point about the creatures of nature.

Makes one think.

Have a great day.

Ann Carr from SW England on April 10, 2021:

Lovely peaceful poem. I was especially struck by the reference to creatures talking back and forth. It reminds one of the smaller, important, parts of nature, going about their lives regardless.
