Poem 351: Colleagues & Poem 352: 'Mr. and Mrs. Iyer'

Colleagues & 'Mr. and Mrs. Iyer'

A) Colleagues

We performed experiments together.

We observed the results together.

We drew inferences together.

During incubation time,

we spoke, ate, listened to songs or watched movie clips.

The world was moving along her way,

we along our way without paying any heed to inquisitive minds.

She had to marry, she left forever.

I was invited, could not go, sent gifts.

It is unwise to keep relation with a married woman.

B) 'Mr. and Mrs. Iyer'

She used to share with him for utter survival

but shared with someone else when death approached near.

One man jumped into the sea to save her life,

while another was standing on the deck, shouting, 'Don't go far'.

Love comes like spring once

but true friendship survives even after the end of war.
