Please Keep Off The Grass

Gareth Barsby is a graduate of the University of Chester who writes many short stories, poems and reviews.

I am a blade of grass,
And this is all I ask,
Listen to what the signs say,
And please keep off the grass.

It really hurts my head,
When on me you tread,
What if I went and stomped on you,
When you were in bed?

This garden is green,
Lovely and pristine,
Careless children charging through,
Is a problem most obscene.

Please keep off the grass,
That is all I ask,
Unless you're giving me a haircut,
Please keep off the grass.
