Plant Another Seed

If they like what you’re saying
They’ll try to own your mind
It’s so easy for them to be you
And when I’m not what they want
They turn it into some kind of crime

You may not notice my will power
It moves very slowly, like the sun
Pacing with time, I’ll get there
You might think I’ve given up
Maybe the fight hasn’t begun

I can see things clearly enough
But not as well as through your eyes
I’m trying to listen, your reality
It’s not the one I thought I lived
Mine is the one a sinner denies

I paid somebody but there’s no receipt
Karma is silent, it’s wrath discreet
You can’t predict what you fail to heed
If it crosses your path, plant another seed

I’m not hiding behind a wall
I’m not wearing a suit of armor
You can see right through me
But it’s not because you know
A free mind is a revelation farmer

What will I tell you of myself
I’m trying not to look too good
There’s no chance that I am
Pride is the failure of humility
It lives as pride never could

Nothing will poison my soul
I’ll make crawling seem royal
There is no path too high or low
If a man can honor circumstance
To him, dignity will remain loyal

I paid somebody but there’s no receipt
Karma is silent, it’s wrath discreet
You can’t predict what you fail to heed
If it crosses your path, plant another seed
