Pitch Black

Here, there is nothing. Yet, the absence of presence perceived is made manifest as something by the human mind.

Here, there is darkness. However, I hear the crackle of small branches as I walk. And, I feel leaves brush my shoulders as I pass.

Here, the gods are quiet. But, in their silence, I hear a familiar song. Their chirps echo in the caverns of my empty peace.

Here, there is life. In darkness was the big bang popped. In tranquility were my demons freed to be slain.

Here, there is the voice of a god, the touch of an angel, the kiss of poet. Here is where I may belong.
