Pirate Shanties: Hear My Call Boy-Ohs

Poetry is turning out to be a very cathartic medium, I should do this more often.

Set the Mood

Hey there boy-ohs,

Hear my call now!

Fair lasses waiting,

Upon the shore!

Hey there boy-ohs,

Hear my call now!

Fair lasses waiting,

Calling out for more!

Hey there boy-ohs,

Hear my call now!

Away we shall sail,

From the lassies fair!

Hey there boy-ohs,

Hear my call now!

Away we shall sail,

Find more lassies there!

Hey there boy-ohs,

Hear my call now!

Live upon the sea,

This is our new life!

Hey there boy-ohs,

Hear my call now!

Live upon the sea,

For she is our wife!

Hey there boy-ohs,

No more calls now!

Swab the deck clean,

And raise the main sail!

Hey there boy-ohs,

No more calls now!

Swab the deck clean,

Lest the captain give wail!

Musical Mind and Clumsy Fingers

I've always taken a deep interest in music because I can hear beautiful symphonies in my head that have never been made, but my fingers could never keep up with the practice of playing what I could create. Then again it would've helped to have actual teachers, but oh well, there is always time to learn. Even if I can't do the instruments, I can always try my hand at lyricism!

P.S. Pirates are cool!

I'm happy you could see it put to a tune, I can certainly hear the tune but that's because I'm the one who wrote it, hahaha!

Not sure how to actually express rhythm and beat without actually making it heard, however, will have to think about how to better present these.

Interesting. I could see this put to the tune of some pirate-like-jig.
