Peaceful Cardinal Calls

Heaven sent straight to me,

I know this is a fact.

Red against pure white snow,

If you can imagine that.

I got the message clear.

From loved ones long ago.

When a cardinal comes,

It is someone we know.

A snowy winter day,

Reminds me of my dad.

Cardinals in the snow,

Makes missing him less sad.

Lost mom at summers end.

Trees not yet to color.

A red spot in green leaves,

A sight like no other.

Cardinals enchantment,

A peaceful state of mind.

Grief given calm retreat,

To see this Heaven’s sign.

Family ties so strong,

The spirit world awakes.

Grandparents watching us,

With memories we make.

When cardinals appear

They send a sign of love,

From those souls we miss,

In Heaven up above.

Every day brings new things.

And many see it all.

Watch carefully to see,

Peaceful cardinal calls.

A lovely poem, Diana. I had heard that the appearance of a cardinal represented a lost love one watching over us. We don’t have them here unfortunately. Thank you for writing and sharing this.

I love that poem, Diana. I think Cardinals are such lovely birds.
