Pause Button

Humans are

compelled to cage

themselves in their

own nests

Fighting against

the invisible enemy

An opportunity

to meet and

recognize ourselves

Searching for new

meaning of freedom

Playing childhood

games after years

Having luxury of

doing nothing

Paying attention

at the ignored corners

of our homes and hearts

It does not seem

real at all

It is hard to believe

that our running world

is on the pause button.

Yes, we have paused our lives and if anything good comes from this pandemic, perhaps it will be realizing just how valuable the little things that we took for granted really are! Going out and meeting friends for coffee, taking our children to the park, going to the library, and visiting our loved ones! And taking care of our planet instead of taking it for granted! Hopefully, this pandemic has shaken us out of our apathy and made us realize that everything can be taken away in an instant especially if we don't treat all life including wildlife with respect. This is a very thoughtful and profound poem which entreats us to become more aware of those around us and their needs!

You have beautifully penned out the situation we are all facing. It is true indeed that we have started to appreciate the unseen things at this time. Wonderful poem.

This is a thoughtful poem and if anything positive is to come out of this pandemic, it has caused us to stop and appreciate everything in life we hold dear. I know I look at life differently now and I will try to never take anything or anyone for granted again. Every cloud does have a silver lining. Great poem Vandna.
